Yeah, we are so new to this that just about everything we see at this point is a "lifer". Even if we've seen the bird before we still need to learn its song, etc. It is hard to imagine having a life list of several hundred birds or more but I guess if we keep plugging away we'll get there eventually :-) The main thing is that we enjoy it and it's something both of us can do together. Yeah, we are so new to this that just about everything we see at this point is a “lifer”. Even if we’ve seen the bird before we still need to learn its song, etc. It is hard to imagine having a life list of several hundred birds or more but I guess if we keep plugging away we’ll get there eventually :-) The main thing is that we enjoy it and it’s something both of us can do together.

When I started 10,000 Birds, i had fewer than 200 birds on my list, and even that many because I visited Belize the month before I started blogging. Now that I'm over 550 birds, I can look back and enjoy all of the amazing sightings the last five years have delivered.
